  David Bamford  
David Bamford, Associate and Advisory Board Member
 
David Bamford is a non executive Director of Tullow Oil (since 2004, and is a member of the Audit, Nominations and Remuneration Committees).

With a PhD in Geological Sciences from the University of Birmingham, he has had over 23 years exploration experience with BP where he was Chief Geophysicist from 1990 to 1995, General Manager for West Africa from 1995 to 1998, and acted as Vice President, Exploration, directing BP's global exploration programme, from 2001 to 2003. He is a geophysicist by background and an explorer by recent history, and is well known as both around the oil & gas industry. In addition to acting as a director or advisor to several small companies, including his own consultancy, he writes regularly for journals such as OilVoice, ROGTEC etc, and has recently co-founded Finding Petroleum as a vehicle for on-line communication in the oil & gas industry.


 
   
Lord Truscott of St James
Lord Truscott, Associate Partner
 
Lord Truscott of St James’s is an independent Member of the House of Lords, and a director and consultant with a number of publicly listed and private companies, mainly in the energy and mining sectors. Lord Truscott was appointed as a Member of the House of Lords in 2004. Between 2006 and 2007, he was the UK’s Energy Minister and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Energy at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the DTI Government Spokesperson in the House of Lords. He represented Hertfordshire in the European Parliament between 1994 and 1999, and was the Government’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Spokesman and Vice-President of the Parliament’s Security Committee. He has been a member of the Lords European Union Select Committee, Sub-Committee C (Foreign Affairs, Defence and Development). An expert on Russia, he has written a biography of President Putin amongst other books and many articles on the former Soviet Union. He was Visiting Research Fellow with the Institute for Public Policy Research, and has written reports on European Defence (IPPR), on political risk management in the energy and defence sectors (RUSI), and European Energy Security (RUSI). He has a doctorate in modern history from Oxford University , is a Fellow of the Industry and Parliament Trust and is currently an Associate Fellow with Royal United Services Institute for defence and security studies.
   
Robert Waterhouse
Robert Waterhouse, Advisory Board Member
 
Robert Waterhouse has been analysing and investing in the natural resources sector since 2000, and writes reviews of oil and gas companies for the leading multi-media news organisation Proactive Investors.

With an honours degree in science, his senior management career began in 1975 on appointment as head of operational planning and performance appraisal for the British Post Office, where he worked closely with the board to successfully secure profitability at a time of high inflation and great economic difficulty; he was later appointed as head of operational policy for Royal Mail. During his years in the communications sectors, Robert was also involved in the introduction of the first modems, long-range human resource forecasting, development of new management accounting systems, design of large distributed computer systems, authorisation of major land purchases, postimplemention reviews of major capital schemes, the large-scale introduction of workstudy methods, and the automation of mail processing operations. He was subsequently the CEO of Bridgegate, a British manufacturing company supplying the defence, automotive, communications and electronics sectors.

Robert is increasingly focussed upon issues concerning the structure, composition and capability of company boards, an area which is seldom addressed by resource-focussed analysts yet which is central to achieving shareholder value.
     
Robert Waterhouse  
Jacob Kunzer, Advisory Board Member
 
Jacob Kunzer has a Masters degree in international affairs from the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University, Ottawa. He specialised in international trade and international economics.

Jacob has been a Canadian Trade Commissioner for more than 25 years working in Canadian Embassy offices in emerging markets in Asia, Central, Eastern Europe, CIS countries and the Caribbean. He has helped Canadian companies in their international business including investigating market prospects, identifying key contacts and providing relevant advice and market intelligence in areas such as risk management, financing and corporate social responsibility. He has specialised in commercial matters related to the oil, gas and mining sectors.

He was the Deputy Director of the Canadian government's International Trade Centre in Vancouver from 1997 to 2002 where he facilitated incoming investments from Japan and Korea to British Columbia, Canada and oversaw export related matters in the mining, forestry oil & gas and natural resources area.

From 2002 to 2007 he was the Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Embassy in Moscow responsible for all matters related to the natural resources sectors involving the Canadian government and Canadian business matters in Russia, Uzbekistan and Armenia.

Most recently Jacob was Senior Adviser to Petro-Canada in London on international corporate relations.
